Fly to Baku exhibition in MAXXI museum Roma, Italy

From March 6 to March 26, 2013 the exhibition FLY TO BAKU will take place in Rome at MAXXI – Spazio D, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with the support of the Rome Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
21 artists from three generations of Azerbaijani will display 100 works of art, ranging from traditional to contemporary, the greater part of which was realized expressly for this exhibition. Paintings, sculptures, installations, video art, photographs and performances for the most important event representing the new and promising contemporary artistic panorama of Azerbaijan.
The goal of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is to support and promote Azerbaijani culture while offering humanitarian aid at home and abroad. Thanks to this project recently presented with success in London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow and heading for Vienna after Rome, the Foundation sponsors cultural exchange with the contemporary European art scene, while, at the same time, creating an international platform for Azerbaijani artists.
Curated by Hervé Mikaeloff and Emin Mammedov, FLY TO BAKU displays the works of the following artists: Aga Ousseinov, Aida Mahmudova, Ali Hasanov, Altai Sadiqzadeh, Eliyar Alimirzoyev, Enver Askerov, Faig Ahmed, Fakhriyya Mammadova, Farid Rasulov, Huseyn Haqverdi, Irina Eldarova, Leyla Aliyeva, Mammad Mustafayev, Melik Aghamalov, Mirnadir Zeynalov, Niyaz Najafov, Orkhan Huseynov, Rashad Alakbarov, Rashad Babayev, Sanan Aleskerov e Tora Aghabayova.
